School's started, so far we've had one bad computer-thing-course and one good photography course. I learned a lot from the latter, although I was quite disappointed with myself. The point of the course was mostly to take pictures of unknown people, first just in the street but then tougher things: to get into their homes and to hang around with them. It was interesting and even fun at times, but I think I'm just not cut out to be photographing strangers, at least with no apparent reason. I mean, I could take photos of a model for a magazine, for example, but to me there's just no point in walking on streets asking strangers to pose for me. I just thought it was weird and awkward. Good practice, though. Anyway, I was disappointed in my work and I try to improve myself from now on. It would help to get to photograph something I wanted and liked for a change.

We have a course of graphic design going on, first good graphic design course ever. The teacher's really good and we're actually finally learning something about for example InDesign, which has been taught to us already couple of times - unsuccesfully. Well, this time I think I've really gotten the hang of it (at least a little bit) and I'm even a bit excited about it.

Otherwise I've been a bit down again these past few weeks, I really can't identify why exactly. I bet a part of it is related to the fact that my boyfriend is leaving for Australia soon, for 6 months. I'll be stuck here in the wet darkness of which I've grown to dislike, to my horror (I'm really fond of Finland, I mean, it's my home and it would be nice to like it even when it's not warm and comfortable. I used to, but I don't know what's gotten to me lately).

I hope I start to get some ideas soon and get back to business again, to keep me busy and going.
